Open casting call for Sony Pictures Entertainment comedy feature film "In a Pickle"
The Sony Pictures Entertainment comedy feature film "In a Pickle" is holding an in-person open casting call on October 13, 2018 for fully paid extras. All types are needed 18 years of age and older. Filming will take place in the Pittsburgh, PA area from late October through December, 2018.
"In a Pickle" stars Primetime Emmy Award winner Seth Rogen as Herschel Greenbaum, a struggling laborer who immigrates to America in 1918 with dreams of building a better life for his beloved family. One day, while working at his factory job, he falls into a vat of pickles and is brined for 100 years. The brine preserves him perfectly and when he emerges in present-day Brooklyn, he finds that he hasn’t aged a day. But when he seeks out his family, he is horrified to learn that his only surviving relative is his great-grandson, Ben Greenbaum (also played by Rogen), a mild-mannered computer coder whom Herschel can’t even begin to understand.
Sundance Film Festival Cinematography Award winner Brandon Trost is directing "In a Pickle" from a screenplay written by four-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee Simon Rich, based on his The New Yorker novella "Sell Out". This will be Brandon Trost's directorial debut. James Weaver, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg are producing for their company Point Grey Pictures. Rich and Alexandria McAtee are executive producers.
This film is currently using the working title "In a Pickle".
